Thinking of buying but not in a flood zone so will have to drive to a beach. Do most residents find parking in the summer at beaches? Do you go to the Bay Head beach? TY!

Probably depends upon where in PP you will live. I imagine that many go to the beaches in Point Pleasant Beach (Jenkinson's, Risdens) as that is convenient to much of PP. Most weekdays you can probably find parking on the street for free if you're willing to walk a few blocks. Weekends and holidays are more challenging but doable if you get there early.

Some of my family who live in PPB go to the river beaches (not my thing personally but they have kids who like it) and they also more frequently go to the Sea Girt military and state police beach because they know someone with access. They rarely go to the PPB beaches during the season.

Yes we used to buy beach passes for Bay Head and never had problems parking for free. The town is fairly strict with enforcing the rules on the beach though.

Ok, thanks loads.
@Jersey Man, how long ago did you go to Bay Head? Worried that the climb up and down stairs to get over dunes now will be tough?

Lived in Point Boro within a mile to the beach for over 10 years. Haven't been to the Bay Head beach after it was rearranged by Sandy. They did have to put in all new beach access areas, don't know which ones they made handicapped accessible though, and or easy access.

Default Bay Head Beach Access

Thanks for those thoughts, Jersey Man. We called the police dept. in town last year and apparently there is no longer easy access. You have to go up stairs, over the dune, then down stairs they said. Too bad there isn't a ramp or something like in Lavallette. Maybe they don't have room for it.
When you lived in the area were you able to drive there without bumper to bumper traffic on week days?

Yes, Bridge Ave. goes directly into the Bay Head beach area from Point Pleasant Borough. Very nice area and you avoid all the crowds about 1 mile north of you in Point Pleasant Beach by the boardwalk area.
