I was curious if anyone had some insight into the best town or area to live in that would provide as reasonable a commute as possible between the cities of Atlantic City and Newark New Jersey.
My partner already works in Newark and I have the opportunity to take a position in Atlantic City. So one one be commuting north to Newark and one south to Atlantic City. We both have cars but if there was a public transportation option that would be great also. I was thinking maybe Point Pleasant or Bay head area..... Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Well, Newark is around exit 145 on the Parkway, and AC is exit 40, so half-way puts you somewhere around exit 90. Working slightly north and south from there, you can look anywhere from Point Pleasant down to Toms River and be fairly close to equal commutes.
Depending on the tolerance for commute time, you may want to bias your search more north than south. Heading north involves much heavier traffic then heading south. Let's say you look in the area of exit 110. The person going south would travel 70 miles, while the one going north would only travel 35. Yet, it would probably take the same amount of time.
Your partner's working downtown Newark? If so they can just take the train up. Best bet would be in Monmouth county/northern Ocean county near the Coast Line stations near the Shore. There are stations in Point Pleasant Beach and Bay Head(BH has free parking) if you want to live off Exit 90. There's some express service during rush hours.

I think it is fairly safe to assume that the OP decided where to live...long ago...
Yeah and sad to say that AC job may no longer exist to boot.
