I grew up in Parsippany and was shocked at some of the changes in Denville, Booton and Montville. What are the ritzy desirable places in Morris County these days? What is new? Where are all the McMansions these days?
Mt. Lakes is still ritzie... some areas in Boonton Twp. - alot of people are moving west of those areas...Longvalley, Chester - all stilll middle to upper middle class. One area by me seems to be building McMansions - Independence Twp. - Warren Co., and they're selling out quick - also there are some McMansions going up over in Green Twp. - Suusex Co. as well. I think alot of people are realizing that you can get more for your money by jumping over one county.

It's amazing how much has changed in 10 years. I know a couple that bought a one acre lot in Boonton Twp, built a 5000 sf house on it. The best investment they ever made (worth almost 5 times what they paid).

I know..it's amazing! I lived in Denville about 10 years ago..it was a cute town then - now it's just a traffic mess...dangerous trying to venture out for a walk around the town. I'm also noticing that the wealth of certian areas is declining - areas that were once considered Upper Class are now Middle to lower middle. I migrated west and bought my own McMansion..well in my eyes it's a McMansion..lol. So much cheaper out here and you can still get land!!! I'm not a huge fan of the 0.0003 acre lot with the 5000sf house on it...Hackettstown has a few of those types of developments and the houses are in the 500K plus range!!! It's crazy what people think is a bargain these days!

I've been told that Montville used to be kind of dumpy in the past (which explains the auto salvage yard that's still there). Now it's a very wealthy town with top-notch schools.
I think Kinnelon is also a "new money" town. Correct me if I'm wrong.
