We are looking into possibly moving to Ridgewood. I know there are a bunch of elementary schools and I am wondering if anyone who lives there can tell me a bit about each area and elementary school. I know that some of you have mentioned an overcrowding problem so I am curious how your kids have done in the elementary school. I have a daughter who will be starting Kindergarten in the Fall and another who will be starting two years later. We will be looking into the more "affordable" areas - not the areas with the huge homes which I do realize makes up a lot of the town.

Thanks so much for any information.

I don't know much about each school but I can't imagine any of them being bad with the crazy high taxes in Ridgewood they they try to justify with the claims of great schools.

In terms of performance, all elementary schools are pretty much the same. Schools are overcrowded, however it does not seem to effect performance too much. After all, Ridgewood is one of the best school districts in the area, if not the state.

In terms of affordability, Willard and Ridge school areas (both are elementary schools) are considered more expensive, especially Ridge. The area near Grove Street seems to be more "affordable". Also, if you look on the east side of Rt 17, you might get more for your money, probably because that area is further away from everything.

Hope this helps.
