I'm going to move to Edison, New Jewsey next week.
Who should I call to open gas/electricty account ? Right now I have no clue. Even Google Search didn't help me much.
Could anybody please suggest utility companies for (1) electricity, (2) gas, (3) phone, (4) highspeed internet, and (5) cable or satellite tv?
Thanks in advance.

PSE&G handles electric. Gas is either PSE&G or Elizabethtown Gas. Phone can be anyone you want- Verizon or AT&T would be my picks. Cable should be Comcast. For internet you can either go DSL or Cable- the easiest thing to do is to package it with either your phone or cable provider.

Personally, I hate Comcast. Despise them even.

I have the luxury of Embarq being my phone provider - DSL through them is a nice price, with phone service, and my uptime and speeds are impressive. Currently on the 5mbit downstream plan, they have an option now for 10mbit for $10 more than I pay now. Also through them is Dish - I have to say, I'm pretty happy with the satellite service. The tuners are more responsive than the digital cable boxes, they feel more fleshed out and functional. Even during storms, I have rarely had any issues. I'm still a happy Dish customer - its worth looking at.

We're on Dish as well- I didn't care for Comcast in NJ, and they're even worse down here in GA. I've seen their trucks all over our subdivision pulling cable, and yet when I called them to inquire about rates, they told me that they don't service our area, someone else does. I called the other company, and lo and behold, was told that Comcast is the provider here. I didn't bother calling Comcast back, and just called Dish instead.

We've lost the Dish signal only twice, and each time it was only during some incredibly heavy rain storms. They'd told us that could happen, so it didn't really come as a surprise. I've never seen rain come down as heavy as it does here sometimes, so I can't say I'm surprised that the dish can't "see" the satellite.
