Just visited North Jersey and wondered why Tonnelle Ave is so ugly. This is the face of this JC to NorthBergen

It's a truck route that passes through a primarily industrial/commercial area. Not sure what else you'd expect.

Yeah it's an industrial area next to a swamp.

Yeah, Tonnelle is ridiculously awful looking. I used to commute on it every day and was happy when we moved uptown and I had another route. It's just an industrial corridor in an area with poor urban expansion planning. Like the rest of Hudson co, haha.

Tonnelle Ave in North Bergen is not that bad as compared to Tonnelle Ave in Jersey City. I see some new condos being built near the train station on 51st St, so perhaps the area will improve over time.

That depends, were the prostitutes old and well used or young and hot?

But overall, NJ is kind of ugly. It does not surprise me one bit that you found a particularly ugly street...

I'm a "transplant", and just moved in 4 years ago, and there are some really beautiful areas of NJ. It's just that Tonnelle is not one of them. It's unfortunate that the whole route from Newark Airport to the city is so ugly, since that's the first and only impression many people get of NJ, but outside of the 495/Tonnelle/198/Hwy 3/I-95/78 corridor, NJ is very pretty with lots of vegetation.

Anyway, as pretty as the other states I've lived in, in the South.
