I've been with Comcast for around a decade and I'm fed up. I'm tired of the on and off internet service. I keep calling customer service but they haven't resolved the problem. Is Verizon FIOS any better?

Verizon is ok. I've never lost service altogether, but speeds are much lower than advertised. I initially bought a plan with 25 mbps, but pulled about 8 most of the time. I got a "free upgrade" to 50 mbps and a new router, and get about 12 mbps on average. Neighbors report about the same.

Something is wrong in your area then. I have the 75Mbps Fios package and pull speeds over 80Mbps.

Comcast is terrible. I used to have them and the internet service would just randomly go out, sometimes for hours at a time.

Usually you don't have a ton of options in too many places. I know South Orange your choices are Comcast and FiOS. People , of course, complain about both, but when people complain about FiOS the general opinion is that the person is already on the better of the two.

I have FiOS myself and it's been fine, perhaps even good. No complaints in a little under 2 years.
