I haven't taken the 113 bus from Scotch Plains, but I've taken the 114 that runs along Rte. 22. It makes stops at locations that I didn't see on the map. If you follow its route while driving, you'll see the signs for the stops. The 'map' from njtransit isn't very helpful.
I didn't have any trouble parking and getting into the city, but coming home I had a big problem. I didn't realize that the location where I caught the bus had no way for a pedestrian to cross Rte. 22. So when I came back to NJ, I had to walk about 1/3 mile back toward Springfield, make a run-for-your-life crossing, then walk the 1/3 mile west on the other side of 22 to where I parked. Let that be a lesson! On the plus side, there's lots of parking on the side streets off 22.
Also note there are 113N (travels alone North ave locally), 113S (local along south) 113X (express along north-Note no 'N') and 113SX (express along South Ave). it matters sometimes when you are looking for an actual bus schedule (like on mybus)
