I'm considering a move to Bridgepointe. Are there any negatives about the community?
It depends on what you mean by negatives. I don't really have any complaints about the place - it's a nice, family-oriented community, and it's pretty well-maintained. Occasionally, I'm irked by someone driving faster than I think they should be, but that's certainly not the norm, nor is it unique to our neighborhood.
For those who know nothing of the area nor the people who live there, yes many are working class people......Kind, good people....there is little flooding due the the hills most of this town is built on......The Bay section which was once a summer town is enjoying a rebuilding of large home face the Bay.....
We just moved to Laurence Harbor in December '07 and love it. Yes we are working class, good natured and kind. My neighbors are wonderful and I always feel secure.
We didn't need Flood insurance
For the people speaking of good working class people. I want to express that these neighborhoods have the best neighbors, it isnt the neighbors these people are speaking to. Its the resale value of their home. If a working class individual is a kind good hearted person who you would want to live near but cannot keep the yearly maintenance on their home for the curb appeal of the street, the neighbors property value will decrease. I am also looking in Bridgepointe, Old Bridge NJ, but since my girlfriend and I are commuters to NY this town has great commuter appeal, but is known to have minimal resale value.
As for the school system, I can speak on this topic due to living in the area and having friends that have sent their children to the middleschool. Old Bridge Schools are far better than Matawan; but still in the middle of the pack
My husband and I are considering a move to Bridgepointe and have a question. Does the association have their rules/bi-laws posted on the internet to read?

How do you figure the Old Bridge Schools are far better than Matawan, but still middle of the pack? I'm pretty sure Matawan's are middle of the pack so that would imply that Old Bridge has highly rated schools. I don't think that's the case. I'd say both are middle of the pack at best.

JPMP - sent you a DM. I don't think the by-laws are on the internet anywhere, but I might be able to help if you have specific questions.
