You would be very happy to teach French at Piscataway High School since you would be able to teach many good students like my brother-in-law's son. Both French and Spanish are designated World Languages in Piscataway; that is to say, there is great demand on the teachers.
And, if you are single or married without kid, you may living at condos like Edison Hollow South that can walk to Edison Train Station, about 45 minutes to Midtown, or 25 minutes to Newark and another 20 minutes PATH to Downtown NYC. and when you drive to work, it is "reverse" traffic about 4 miles away.
If you are married with kids, then you may consider nice townhouses at Piscataway like Hidden Woods, about $300k, you got very nice one with woods next to it and trail to best Quibbletown Playground, with tennis courts, basketball fields, baseball field ...etc. And it is near to Dunellen Train Station to NYC.
If you prefer to buy a house, you may consider a nice 3br ranch at Piscataway, normally 1/4 acre, at below $300k, and later, when you want to expand, you can easily raise it to a 5br colonial with about 10k.
In general, you want to find out which World Languages designated by a school district. If a town does not designate French, then your opportunity is limited. Like Highland Park designates Chinese as one of the World Lanaguage, and all kids learn Chinese since grammer school ...
