Brick worth the look? we've been shopping Edison but are realizing it's cheaper down further

The hubby is an Army Veteran so we need VA access and there is one in Brick

Is it safe? I read they got hit pretty bad w/Hurricane Sandy and if it's a major area of flooding and damage, I may cross it off my list

thanks!

Brick is pretty large and only the homes on the water were flooded. There are plenty of homes that were not affected. Just stay away from the water.

Edison is bigger than Brick.

Of course Brick will be cheaper since it is further south. 10 years ago it was rated safest town in America. I don't know if this is still the case. Don't think the schools are as good as Edison if you need public education.

I agree that Edison is bigger and has better schools. It is also a lot more congested with more traffic - I was really just addressing the flooding.

Oh yes, for moving, my apologies. I currently live in Union City and we're looking to move to a more suburban / family oriented town.

I have 2 children ages 12 and 8..... I would prefer to move south to get more for our money but being near the VA is important since my Husband goes regularly for services.

budget is in the 250-300k, although I don't mind renting to start off.

I liked how Brick looks, but I just want to make sure if we go that way (and obviously not live next to the water), would it be ok in regards of flooding.

I transferred from the VA at Lyons to Brick 17 years ago when I moved south.

There is also a VA clinic located in Tinton Falls.

Bill, how would you rate the VA in Brick?

He currently goes to the one in East Orange, it's a great facility for him, no issues w/it at all
Obviously no way am I moving to EO!
