We are thinking of moving here and were wondering what the Jewish population is like, and also if there are a lot of younger families. We don't need a huge population of either, but we also don't want to be the only ones in town! Any insight would be much appreciated.

young families yes, jews, not too many, if you really need an area with many jews try aberdeen, marlboro or manalapan

Actually, Hazlet had a large Jewish population in the 70s and 80s. But most of the families have since moved to Marlboro. Currently, there are still a number of families, but not as many as when I went to school.

Hazlet schools have off for major Jewish and Catholic holidays still also. I've been to a few of the temples over the years, they are very accesible to Hazlet (one on the border in Matawan). Also, there is easy access to Hebrew school programs.
