We are considering buying a house in Verona, NJ, and both my husband and I commute into NYC everyday. We know there are two Decamp buses that run down Bloomfield Ave and then either go local or express. Can someone tell me how long he normal ride is to NYC? I know what the schedule says, but if we were to get on a bus around 7:30am, what time would we get into Port Authority?

Please don't buy in Verona if you plan to use the schools. Very run down and rankings have dropped considerably. Try Roseland. Students go to West Essex for HS and you can get a much nicer house with lower taxes in that town. Bus has many stops there too.

"Vtownres" ?

Seems like someone might have an ulterior motive here.

Sorry OP, I can't answer your question but Verona is a pretty sweet spot to raise a family. Good schools, safe and easy access to 280, GSP, Montclair, and public transportation to the city.

No motive here. I just know the area very well. Cedar Grove schools are as bad. All I'm saying is Verona schools are not very good COMPARED to other nearby towns. Roseland, North Caldwell, Livingston. Don't trust a Verona resident. They will tell you until you're blue in the face how wonderful their town is, but deep down they know the truth. One walk through any of the schools buildings and you'll see it. Peeling paint, run down, zero technology. But, the fields are beautiful.
