A few questions for the OP:

What is your profession? What types of outside of work activities do you like? Why not join a club that specializes in an interest you have? Meet some people, make some friends and see where that goes. Ask someone out. The worst they can do is say "no".

Online dating is another option and quite popular in this every increasingly busy world. It's a time saver for sure. I know at least 2 couples who are married and meet online.
