If you get a judge like I have for the very same offenses you will still have to pay the tickets AND court fees (usually $20-$40).
Photocopies are unacceptable, period. Theres no getting out of that one. Only offical copies or "Duplicates" from the DMV are ok.
Unless your side markers and rear tailights are on with your Daytime Running Lights then your losing that one as well.
Suck it up, pay the tickets and save yourself the hassle and court fees. I dont think that either of those tickets result in points on your DL so I wouldnt worry about that. Next time just turn on your lights when you turn on your wipers and get an official copy of your reg.
I dunno about that because I used to have a ford taurus and my Daytime Running Lights were exactly the same as my regular lights. I guess it depends on the car.
and that is just what the orig poster is claiming. My wife always tells me that the DRLs won't suffice in the rain. Guess I'll have to listen although you would think that the cop would have given a warning. A little power goes a long way.

You would think so, since an officer's job is to protect, not harass/generate revenue for the township. Oh well...

Well let me say I would not even think of pulling a car over for that infraction never even thinking about writing 2 bull$hit tickets. No wonder why we get a bad wrap because of Mayberry cops with nothing to do. We don't even have time to make traffic stops because we are focused on catching real criminals, like shooters, robbers, stabbers and so on. What a shame. I remember getting illegally stopped a while ago by a small town cop for not wearing my seat belt only. I told him to send me the captain because I want to press charges against him for illegally stopping me and violating my civil rights. He was so pissed he wanted to drag me out of the car. I said no, no and showed my supervisors ID and shield. Guess what he couldn't wait to let me go, I left but should have stayed and pursued it. I guess if I were not ON THE JOB this jerkoff would haved dragged me into the station house. And yes this was one of the towns with 4 cops total. And people thought that Andy Griffin lived down south with Barny Fife but he really lives in New Jersey.

a cop catches a guy robbing a bank, and instead of taking him in he just warns him not to do it again and let's him go...
The problem is you got pulled over in Helmetta...The town of Helmetta is less than one square mile...they have 2 police officers...if you get pulled over by one you're getting a ticket, no matter what....that's just how it is in super small towns ya know...they'll ticket anyone passing through their town to bring in revenue. I'm sure if you happened to be a resident of Helmetta it would have been a whole different story....
Not to change the subject, but another town that needs to consolidate it's services or be consolidated into East Brunswick. We don't need towns causing expenses to the taxpayers of the State that have 1825 people living there. (BTW...I must have over 1200 people living in my development of 315 homes. Should we start our own town?)

maybe if the big city cops focused on the smaller things they'd catch some of the bigger fish in the process, laws are laws and should be enforced regardless of how some low level big city cops feel about the worthiness of some of the laws.
One big reason guillani was able to clean up NYC was because they started to vigorously enforce the minor laws like drinking in public, smoking on the subway and they found that when they busted people for these so called minor offenses they found many guns on them, drugs and other things in addition once they had these petty criminals in custody they found out a good many of them weren't just small time criminals, they had warrants for much more serious crimes.
so maybe the big city super coppers should get their fat butts out of their patrol cars and start doing some real cop type work, your city might even become a better place to live in because of it.
I'll take my small town cops who keep our small towns safe and livable anyday over some lazy wise ass big city cop like you find in places like newark or jersey city any time

Andy is that you, Barney wake up. I don't know where to start. You can't VIOLATE PEOPLES CIVIL RIGHTS by searching them for smoking on a train and drinking in public. And your supposed to show some compassion for the people you serve. It's called discretion, the poster got 2 BS tickets that could have been handled with a verbal warning. As for enforcing all the petty offenses in big cities the first infantry doesn't have enough manpower to accomplish this. I don't get you, I guess if you got hit with the 2 tickets you would be on here claiming that the cops picked on you. Well all I can say is I don't have a fat butt and I'm willing to show people some compassion and I think some of the BS that cops do to people suck. Well if you were the one on the receiving end I guess I would say you wanted it, you got it. Oh well to each there own.JM
