Well, some people are dating "Americanized" women. That's just not your taste.

And yes, there will always be racists. That's not a NJ thing. That's a human thing.

Racism may be a human thing but in the US racism seems rampant, almost 50yrs after Martin Luther King was assassinated.

Yep, I've gotten a LOT of nasty comments about my race. It's tough to be white nowadays.

TBH, I'd rather be around the paterson area. Trump has made white people feel like its a renaissance and they can act like *******s to minorities. Sure theres tons of violence but its drug related. The people though poor, come from places where respect towards others is standard. Its where immigrants and second generation people live.

Yup. Some people are very racist, some people are very nonracist. That's why you have to take people as individuals and not make assumptions about them.

.

First you said it wasn't a racial thread, to defuse a previous racial post. Then in your next post you offer an opinion that smacks of race baiting.

If I had said "Obama has made black people feel like its a renaissance and they can act like ********s to whites", I would be pilloried on here for the broad brush shaming of a whole race, as I probably should be.

Gotta love those double standards.

Paterson does have a crime problem and there is a lot of juvenile delinquency. Paterson made it in the news when a high school student beat up a teacher because he took a cell phone away from him. I remember a guy a group of youths for directions in downtown Paterson and he got made fun of by them after they said they didn't know. Don't get me wrong I love Paterson, it has great ethnic diversity and great restaurants but I wouldn't call it the most respectful city in New Jersey. The most polite place I have ever been to in New Jersey was Hunterdon County.

Not really, if you said that I would agree.

I'd suggest Haledon, North Haledon, Hawthorne. All perfectly fine. A lot of good ethnic restaurants in Paterson, including Caribbean. Sorry, don't know much about the dating scene.
