A lot of people would see major property tax reductions with more ice raids.

Have your kids routinely seen peaceful people being violently led away in handcuffs? On a regular basis? I would bet your kids would be a bit soft as well...

Enforcing the laws with illegal immigration is what got President Trump elected. I just wish the all the dems and the swamp republicans would fall in line and support him.

Because CNN says it is.

A lot of people on both sides of the political spectrum are brain dead and parrot the garbage CNN and Breitbart tell them is true.

There are roughly half a million illegal immigrants in NJ:

You guys really think ICE should find, arrest and deport everyone? I don't think you would want to live in a place with so much law enforcement activity. And I think ICE would need to be substantially expanded to accommodate all these raids...

I always had one question in mind. Lets say ICE or DHS or local police stop somebody on the street because they don't look "american" and if that person does not have any passport or even a birth certificate but was born in the US. How do they get out if they are arrested? What other means do they have to prove they are americans?

Recently my town in north jersey passed a resolution that our town police should not approach anybody just for asking which country they are from or whether they are here legally.

If you're born in the US there is a birth certificate. You might not have your copy, but it's filed at both the hospital and the civic levels, so there are existing copies that you can get a hold of.

Additionally, as soon as you're born a SSN is issued which is what is used on your tax forms. So being able to check the SSN against the name assigned to it is another option for proof of identity.

But I also disagree with the poster who said this. This is NJ. Property taxes dont go down here. The best you can hope for is that they go up more slowly.
