I'm doing a little project where I'm taking pictures of some of the ugliest sites in NJ. I'd like to hear some of your recommendations. Ideally the recommendation has to be one specific object that can be taken within a photo. Also, if I take a recommendation here I'll post up pics when done.

Jersey City, Newark, Irvington, East Orange, Asbury Park, Passaic, Paterson, Camden, Elizabeth, all have some ugly parts you can take pictures of.

One man's ugly is another's 'industrial porn'.

I personally think as an individual object that the "iconic" big painted face in Asbury Park is truly ugly.

I sort of liked that, but I didn't have to see it often.

The Linden plant was my first thought. The Bayonne tank farms ain't pretty. The Asbury Park Casino ruin (as seen in _The Wrestler_) was pretty nasty, but I think it's gone. You also missed the Harrison Industrial Wasteland you could see from the train, and Mount Westinghouse in Newark. Almost any place in Paterson but Great Falls itself (and the area right around Great Falls is quite nasty). The master bedroom at the governor's mansion.
