I am starting my working in a week's time and trying to get to best option to commute between Edgewater to Edison .I know that driving will be fastest but i m more inclined towards taking public transport .. not too fond of driving after the day long work.
Any information on charted bus or car pool would be very useful too . TIA
Driving is must better, because Edgewater is far from transit hubs. The light rails run like snails I would avoid, it takes almost an hour from Edgewater to Newark by light rail that's how slow it is but driving to Newark takes about 25mins and another 30 mins to Metropark from there by driving. Typical driving distance is 60-65mins in the morning.
Commute wise, driving will be best way and most reliable.
On separate matter. Find a new place to live or change your job. This commute will make you insane. I've done Edgewater to Parisppany/Morristown area for 3-4 years. Its rough, Edison is further...

The Hudson Bergen Light Rail does not go to Newark. It does go to Hoboken Terminal where you can get the PATH to Newark.
