I know that many Portuguese and Brazilians live in the Ironbound. However is the Portuguese population more diverse than that? Are there Cape Verdeans and people from Mozambique as well there?

I'm of Portuguese heritage and live in the Ironbund. There are some, from the Azores, Madeira and many African colonies, probably more from Angola then the ones you mentioned. Probably a few hundred, not huge numbers.

Any reason why the question? Seems like a very random post.

Thanks! I was reading up on the Ironbound and read that there are Cape Verdeans, and people from Mozambique. I did not know this . I know that the Ironbound is very Portuguese, Brazilian, and Ecuadorian. I did not know the Lusophone population here was more diverse. I have yet to see any Cape Verdean, Mozambican, or Angolan restaurants or stores, though.

The social club, Sport Club Portuguese, on Prospect Street is frequented by all that speak Portuguese. There are likely many members from the African colonies. There probably are business owners from there but, I don't think there are any restaurants owned by them.

The majority of African colony migration happened in the 70s-80s so many have become estaslibed and moved out.
