You can park for free at Woodcrest Station in certain lots. One-way trip to Philly is around $3 if i remember correctly. Not sure about getting to 30th st station from 8th and market tho. I would post that question on the Philadelphia forum.

Parking at Woodcrest a $1/day via coin machines. If you are willing to walk, you can park for free in the far lots. A round trip costs $4.90 a day on Patco to any of the Philly stops including 8th/Market which happens to be the first stop. It's a lot cheaper than driving to the city, paying tolls and parking.

Regarding 30th street station, I'm not sure since I never had to do it. You can catch the Broad Street subway at 12/13th Market Patco stop, but I don't know its entire route. But it is very easy to connect there. You might have to take Septa Bus service.

What you want to do is take PATCO highspeedline to 8th and Market and then transfer to the SEPTA Market-Frankford El which is right there. That will take you right to 30th Street. Get your SEPTA tickets at the PATCO station - you can buy them at the same machine you get your PATCO tickets and buying them there will save you money (PATCO riders get a discount on SEPTA passes).

For round trip:

PATCO from Woodcrest to Philly: $4.90
SEPTA Market-Frankford El from 8th & Market to 30th Street: $2.40
PARKING AT PATCO STATION: Free, unless you want to be up close in which case $1

So the total cost would be $7.30 (or $8.30 if you pay for parking)
