Anyone know a good place to shop for Christmas trees in Central Jersey? Bear in mind it's 2.5 weeks before Christmas. I heard Cranbury and I know some places in Hillsborough, but everyone I've talked to says the good ones are all sold out. Last ditch efforts can be made at Home Depot, Lowe's, or Whole Foods even, but I'm looking for a more homey experience. Not looking to cut the tree down, it doesn't have to be big, and I have a minivan I can lug it with.
Many places all over,, usually the seasonal spots pop up and open now for instance parking lots,, like $31.99 any tree you want,,,long time ago used to go to firehouse to buy them, cheaper back then maybe $15.
Usual suspects
Some years we would drive to PA also to the tree farms.
Skillmans Lane, in the Somerset section of Franklin Township, features 3 Xmas tree farms in close proximity to each other. Just take Rt. 27 North, turn left at Skillmans Lane, and Suydam Farms (owned and operated by the same family for almost 300 years!) will be just ahead on your left.
If you continue along Skillmans Lane for another mile or so, Otterbein Tree Farm and Circelli Tree Farm are located next to each other in this scenic, rural environment. Just watch your speed, as the speed limit on Skillmans Lane is--inexplicably--30 mph.

Circelli's going on 18 years - for Christmas trees.
I wouldn't think of driving faster than 40mph on Skillmans La.
Deer all over the place off in the fields, a semi-blind curve & that one-lane bridge, that creeps up on those who do NOT know the road...or just can't drive.
Bear was hanging out in the area of Circelli's last year & around this time. I'm sure you saw that a man hit a 200+ pound deer on South Middlebush about a week or so ago? Ended up (the deer) in his car & he ended up in the hospital fighting for his life.
Skillmans is right up there with Courtelyous Lane.
I always love to hear how folks pronounce the name of that road, and so wrong.

+1
However, the realities of that narrow rural road don't prevent some fools from passing other cars that are driving at--or even above--the speed limit. I hold my speed to ~35 on that road because of the deer, and because the local gendarmes have a habit of hiding out in the few driveways on that road.
Yesterday, I narrowly avoided a collision with some fool coming in the opposite direction who passed another car, and who must have been going at least 60 mph. Unfortunately, no cops were doing radar duty on that road yesterday.

Sadly, he lost that fight, and he died about 4 days after the collision.
