They do not ask for it in NJ. I've been doing that for years, BUT none of these take cash. You have to pay with a debit or credit card.

Often these stations are lowest priced in NJ and quite popular too. If you notice no one ever asks for a membership card in NJ when you buy gas, I guarantee that ,,, just no cash.
That's on the state. My youngest takes off anywhere between .20 and a dollar a gallon of gas in Maryland and all just for doing her e regular grocery shopping.

Why is gas at NJ Turnpike rest areas so much more expensive than rest of NJ? (New Brunswick: credit card, buy)
Do not feel left out, because that also happens in the Florida Turnpike, and as I cannot say other Turnpikes are the same, because I would not be telling a TRUE Fact, I am sure in this America of Ours, that also happens everywhere, because you PAID DEARLY FOR THE RIGHTS TO THOSE CONCESSIONS, paying off the Politicians in your State for the Right to MONOPOLY the Stations on The Turnpike

No need, the media has an auto alarm that goes off when gas prices go up 2 cents, trips a headline automatically..." It's Trump's fault" no further information is supplied or required. Bumper stickers have become the media headlines of yesteryear.

Wonder if those high prices accumulate to be included in the algorithm used to determine when the state legislators can raise the gas tax?

We were so screwed by both parties and the few voters who were snookered by the slight of hand move to raise the gas tax. An unforgivable offense.

I noticed that High falutin areas like Bernardsville rt 202, charge 50 cents higher a gallon than stations 15 minutes away.

Surely someone has a convenient cost vs distribution rationale for high gas prices in specific areas.

NJ's state insect is the honeybee, should be the mosquito.

I hate mosquitoes. I like honey

Bribes come in plain brown envelopes. Porn comes in plain brown wrappers. Best not to confuse them.
