How would you describe the people of Hunterdon County? I realize its a huge area, I ask because I was talking to someone about Hunterdon County and they said nothing buy white trash. I was stunned by this person blunt description of the people who live there.

The question is unworthy of an answer on so many levels.

Yes, ridiculous question. Especially for the fact that Hunterdon County has some really high taxes.

Hunterdon county residents have money and are educated. The county usually votes conservative, but that's not the same as white trash. Perhaps your friend was thinking of Warren county, poor, uneducated and a history of KKK supporters.

An even more ignorant statement.

Whoever provided that information was--clearly--badly misinformed.
In reality, according to Forbes magazine (the "Capitalist Tool"), Hunterdon County is the 4th wealthiest county in the entire US:
Richest Counties in The USA 2017, Top 10 List

So, we are not talking about places like... Alabama, or Mississippi, or Arkansas, or Tennessee, or rural Georgia. Yes, there may well be some regressive types scattered here or there in Hunterdon County, but--overall--the population of that county is quite affluent and well-educated, and the person who gave you that misguided opinion should be... ignored.

Sorry if I insulted your home town. But I've worked all over Warren country, and I stand by my statement.

The picture you posted is from the early 1980's. Those people are no longer here. It would not be tolerated in this day and age. I actually have encountered racism in every county in NJ and actually in a lot of other states. That said, please do not classify an entire county by the actions of some.
