Hi,
We have a 5 year old child with very high functioning autism. We plan to mainstream him. We are looking for a good integrated / inclusive school (private, charted or public) in NJ where there are special and general ed. Teachers in same class teaching regular and special need students together.

Can you please recommend any such school. We are willing to move to any place in NJ.

Thanks a million!

You will never know what you are going to get until you are in the system. You might get what you feel is best, something close, or you might have to fight

That being said, I always recommend to look for the larger, affluent towns. They seem to have enough resources as well as a critical mass of kids to form different groups and programs.

I heard that Riverside elementary school in Princeton is great with austic students. Two years ago a client of mine was in a bidding war over a house there and gracefully withdrew the offer upon learning that the other family HAD to get in Riverside because they had an austic kid

Give them a call. Good luck!

Thank you so much for these replies! We will call the Riverside elementary school.

Does this org - New Jersey Coalition for Inclusive Education, Inc. - NJ Coalition for Inclusive Education - help in finding any such integrated schools?

Thanks a lot!!
