Depends on what you are looking for. I've been a member of chapel and driftwood (driftwood now). Very different places. Driftwood is more fun. My friend (now I'm our cabana) said it's like spring break for adults.

agree here OP. Honestly submit to them all- this summer will prob be nuts with people wanting to get out of the house. Sands, Surf Rider are prob the most laid back, Chapel and Sea Bright the most upscale, ship ahoy in-between, Driftwood is huge with a legit restaurant and the tiki bar, but does attract a lot more NYers than the others (make your own judgements, but just an FYI). You also have Monmouth beach bath and tennis (very upscale) as well as Little Monmouth (which is public but has lockers).

There's also one in Long Branch that looks really nice too.

You'll also have to decide if your a locker ($$) or cabana ($$$$) family as well.

Congrats on the house btw OP, you'll love the town. Grab lunch at Brennans btw- I'm partial to the #10 or 11, you can eat them while kids play in Victory park, there's a tiny beach area too for when the weather warms up. Best bagels are In Shrewsbury at BagelMAsters, great pork roll egg and cheese too.

Lol. That is funny.

I met my best friend at work 35+ years ago. I am still friends with others, too, even though I am retired. As a matter of fact, one of those I am closest to and I were simply coworkers until the day we decided to go to our company cafeteria together to grab some breakfast and ending up holding hands running for our lives. Now she is my soul sister.

None of them will make the will, though.

We have two kids under 5 so anyone in the area with ideas for parents, please message me! We don't know too many people down there.
Congrats on finding a new home! May you and your family have many happy years there. Monmouth County is a great place. Check out the excellent county park system. Lots of activities for families.

Brennans #11 is one of the main reasons I bought a house there...

Thanks everyone for the notes and recomendations.

Quick question for any residents... I see it is a 10-15 minute bike ride to the Sea Bright beach. Do people actually ride their bikes on the streets near the bridge to Sea Bright? I've noticed it's pretty tight and some of the roads don't have designated bike paths. But it sure would be great to be able to ride there on the weekends
