Yeah, but how are the employees at the free state-run inspection stations?
In order to give you a comprehensive answer, I would have to have visited every one of those facilities in NJ, which I have not done, and have no intention of doing. All I can tell you is that my preferred rural MVC facility in Central NJ has vehicle inspectors who are low-key, and who seem to be focused on getting the patrons in and out rapidly. I have never experienced any hostility from the vehicle inspectors at that location.
Hmmm... Could he possibly be our old friend "Flakey Boy", returning under a new screen name?
The level of dissatisfaction with... everything... is similar.
I just drove through Rahway MVC about 9:30 am on a Thursday morning,,, 4 or 5 inspection lanes open NO wait at all, got waved right in and sailed through. All passed and done in between 5 and 10 minutes TOTAL.
Inspector checked the registration, insurance card and driver license, scanned the barcode on the doorjamb which probably gives them an online history of the car, plugged the OBD2 connector into the socket near the dashboard, passed and done.
Myself I do use an rather cheap ELM327, about $10 or less, which plugs into your OBD2 port same as MVC does, and this shows you if there are any pending faults or fault codes, or incomplete cycles.
2 days ago my vehicle wouldn't pass but I cleared it on my cell phone, you talk bluetooth to your ELM327 from your cellphone, it went through all the cycles clear, no errors, sailed right on through.
Attached is pic of ELM327 which you talk bluetooth to cellphone with, but that's optional, could save everyone time if you have any existing check engine lights or want to know ahead of time if the vehicle will pass.
I see the ELM327 as cheap as $3.49 on Ebay,,, I think I paid about $8 a few years ago.
There are free or paid apps for your cellphone, I used 2 free ones.

So, despite the OP's fears, you were apparently not "kicked out for no reason"!
But, just so that we can allay some of his other fears...
Were there any "brutal" security guards or cops patrolling the facility?
And, perhaps most important of all... Was anybody mean to you?

Yes, I already knew that answer, but I wanted the OP to get some reality regarding the process.
I am still wondering if he ever has the feeling that people are following him or scheming against him.
