Unlike him I don't believe we can simply tax our way to prosperity and a healthier business climate.

I'm waiting to see if he can fix and expand njtransit. Also, waiting to see if he has any plans for the gateway tunnel and port authority bus station.

Certainly does seem like it to me. Would be nice to have a governor with no desire to run for higher office at all for a change.
He's such a typical liberal Jersey jackass politician.

Tax and spend.

With all of the money he has, you'd think he'd do something to fix those choppers of his.

Depends on what one considers "getting things done".

None of which, in the above link, matters one iota to the majority of NJ residents.

Film credits and transgender issues? A "Snookie subsidy"?

Great source.

Not.

Murphy would have needed another $2 billion in tax revenue to meet the Actuarially Required Contribution for the funds. But instead of paying current debts, the governor wants to incur new debts. He's insisting on adding expensive new programs like free county college and universal preschool while still shorting the fund for the rest of his term.

But if he's going to add new programs, he's going to have to add new taxes. And all the easy tax hikes are taken.

When Chris Christie came into office, New Jersey had the lowest gas tax in the Lower 48 states. Raising it still left us with a lower rate than our neighbors.

When it comes to the two taxes that were just raised in the new budget, there's little room for rate hikes. New Jersey now has the second-highest corporate tax rate in the nation and fourth highest top marginal income-tax rate.

As long as the dude in charge ran on the (D) ticket, everything he does is WONDERFUL.

At least for the fools who voted for him.

Yeah Phil Murphy already chased away the richest person in NJ with his high taxes. This state is going to be an ever bigger mess once Murphy is done with it. Maybe he will try the Christy line of "if you thought it was bad now, you should have seen how bad it was before". Of course it will be worse under his rule but he'll probably make a case that we're always was and are going to be terrible, so settle for him.

The Dems are running Kamala Harris for preZ. Murphy will have to be next in line, until it's his turn like it was Hillary's or Jeb's. It's important to wait until its your turn.

Maybe he can address the public sector worker pension crisis, and the high real estate and property tax problem? Too many patronage jobs with high salaries, benefits, and pensions. Maybe address that instead of fake man made climate change.

Good idea. Why are there public sector unions anyway? I've never gotten this.

better to have a gov that has zero chance of becoming president...... like murphy, though better not to have a gov such as murphy.

delusional and unobtainable fantasy afflict so many pretenders.

35% of registered voters can't be wrong! murphy is their bundle of joy given as a gift to the rest of NJ.

NJ voters are the problem not the politicians.

It is truly sad that the majority of Americans are still under the spell of a left - right or Dem - Rep paradigm. That being said, the only difference is that Dems are officially the party of Socialism; where as a huge chunk of Reps are posing as conservatives, but they are really just as socialists or liberals as their party counterparts. Otherwise explain the cozyness between the Obamas and Bushes or Clintons and Bushes and so on.....they are all the same. That's why they hate Trump, but it is truly amazing that people have not quite caught up to this and they treat their political affiliation like a sports team. But it is without a doubt that if Murphy launches himself for president and subsequently wins, it'll bring this country back to the race to the bottom.
