there may be some truth to that but then the people paying should insist on changing that.
What? No we are talking about you calling people that pay for their commute "free loaders" ,it was BS then and it's still BS.

By the time tolls reach $25, the cost of travel by train into the city will similarly have skyrocketed. It would still benefit some of us to travel by car as the train is prohibitively expensive. It already costs $24 per person round trip to get into the city from my town via NJ Transit. What incentive do I have to use that service? Bring on the tolls.

they arent paying for their commute, they are paying for a portion of their commute while other people pay for the rest of their commute.

LOL, you seriously can not be this obtuse? They are paying their share. They choose to commute a different way and if that means ...ride sharing or bus or train and choosing not to pay what you pay that is their right , again it is being a smart consumer . Get over it you're wrong! Your argument is BS.

i think it is important to distinguish this criticism of the system from the users. i dont blame people for taking advantage of the options available to them even if they are options that shouldnt be available to them. i dont blame people for paying $1 for something that may cost $2. you are right, it is being a smart consumer.

however, when someone pretends that they are paying for it and demands that others continue to subsidize their travel, then i will say they are protecting their welfare or being a freeloader.
