i went to the dollar store not far from there by home depot. pretty sweet. i got a bunch of poopy bags, 80 for 1 buck. they are so thin im worried if im not careful im gonna have a handful of dog poop one of these days. the hazlet portion is pretty working class but im ok with that when i can save a few bucks.

Haha, yes growing up in Bayonne has made me all sorts of uppity.
A few miles down the road in Holmdel? Nice area. But you cannot with a straight face tell me Rt 35 in Hazlet, Matawan and Keyport is nice. Come on. Read Capts post before yours.
If this was a restaurant in Newark and I said the same thing, you wouldn't say boo. But since I'm talking about white people land, you pounce. Like how I too can jump to conclusions???

for me, the changeover to no man's land happens after you pass park east, once you pass the point where you exit 35 to get to the parkway. the hazlet area around park east is more like toothless people land but they are alright and there is some mixing of groups. when i go to aldi, there may be a few teeth missing. but you dont see anything higher end in that hazlet area.
rt. 36 is a differnet story. i dont really go up there. it looks really sad.

I agree Rt 35 North of the pkwy is worse than south but it doesn't get "nice" until you get to the first shopping center in Holmdel (Home Depot? Can't remember). The rest of those towns (Hazlet, Keyport, Matawan) may be quite lovely but to call me out saying that section isn't nice is disingenous. He must be pissed at me for something else.

home depot is right by the parkway entrance, lowes is when you reach lovely holmdel. you are right that the hazlet area doesnt have anything "nice." i go a little further by saying the people are toothless (but really nice toothless people). the inside of park east gives more of a city like atmosphere with music, darkness and i guess modern decor (i dont really know how to describe decor). they have sushi and try to make upscalish food but they dont do a great job of it. it was a good place for "date night" with the wife when i had the restaurant.com certificates that knocked $25 off the bill, but at full price we have chosen other places.

it sounds like a place near me - in a nice location but in the middle of nowhere and not a place you'd expect in that area. when I'm down at work next time maybe I'll go there for lunch (if it's open at that time).

I pounce because I know the area very well. It has nothing to do with white people land or Newark (which I know very little about).
Plus I would rather deal with the common folk, then the snobs from the area's that you think are so nice. You can put a tux on a pig, but its still a pig.

the people in hazlet and holmdel are nice. but the ones in holmdel have more teeth.
well, mother's day is coming again and its time for a reservation! I told everyone that it wouldn't be park east again, but I kind of want to go there! I like it and its super convenient. hmm don't see it on their web site.
