Is it possible to change school in your school district? There are 5 elementary school in the district so is it possible to request a transfer to another, not your zoned school?

It depends on the district, I imagine you could petition them but you'd probably have to have a pretty good reason.

+1
Additionally, the OP would have to provide transportation to the "new" school, which would almost surely be further away than the neighborhood school.

Is the OP prepared to transport his/her child to and from school each day? If the answer to that question is "no", then there isn't really any sense in requesting a change of schools.

Transportation of course - the answer is „yes”.
I just want to know if its possible. Or requesting this is just waste of time.

As Jaymoney suggested, whether or not it is possible will be related to local policies/regulations in your school district.
Some districts allow this type of transfer--albeit with a VERY good reason--and other districts will not entertain those requests.

You'll have to check in your district. If your reason is "because I hear that one is a better school" then you're likely to get a no.

If your reasoning is that your child went there for the past eight years and has one more year in the district before college then there's probably going to be a chance.

But as to whether it's worth your time, well, that's kind of more your call than anyone else's.

Doubtful. Then if word gets out, everyone will be trying to move around for one reason or another. It sets a precedent that administrators don't want to deal with

What is the reason you want to switch schools? Just curious

While it technically doesn't hurt to ask, in my school district (South Orange Maplewood) it would not happen so it wouldn't be worth your time to ask.

Depends on the reason. Possible reasons for a switch in my district are if you have other children attending that school because of special education classes and 2 drop offs are a problem, if there is a record of bullying or if there is unusual lopsided number of boys or girls and the principal wants to even it out (this happened in my child’s school). Of course there has to be spots available for the year.

There might not be openings and I am sure residents in the schooled zone are have first claim.
