You're a student in senior housing? That has me scratching my head.
Are you a senior who has decided to go back to school?

Huh? How did you conclude that by wanting to go to school she is in any way an ingrate?

And the reason why many/most people don't qualify for subsidized housing is that their income level is too high. Are you one of those people who advocate for the elimination of any type of government assistance for people who fall below a certain income level?

Wow. Thank you MQ, bookspage and Retriever.

As for the rest of you:

I have already stated my tuition is free so FAFSA doesn’t apply and if I need to pay for classes going forward I will pay for it myself.

My income is currently $14k below the threshold for the housing I’m in. In other words REALLY LOW, but judgmental CD posters have to have their say no matter how wrong they are.

If you think it is a “head scratcher” for someone older to go to school you should consider taking some classes yourself.

And to no one in particular, I wish we could delete our own threads and for that matter our own accounts.

If the higher education degree is free, someone or some program is paying for it and it’s probably the federal and state government. Definately true if it’s a nonprofit edu like a community college. If it’s a ged, high school, a program like youth build, or for profit program that accepts no govt funds then probably no tax forms will be generated. The form is a 1098t.
If you pay for it yourself a 1098t will be generated and will state if you are full of part time.

The classes are free because of my age bracket and only if the seats have not already been filled by other students. If I pay cash for a class nothing will be generated except the receipt I receive.
