In my experience, driving is the way to go between Princeton and Philly.
I don't see how taking the train from Princeton to West Windsor on the Dinky, then the train from Princeton to Trenton, then switching to SEPTA to 30th Street Philly and then going wherever else you have to go in Philly is easier than just getting in your car and driving to where you need to be in Philly.
Drive!
Thank you. Actually I would go from philly to princeton, which is problably easier to do, right?
Not sure if you meant 1 hour or 1 hour and 45 minutes.
But I'd say 1 hour each way.
Only 1h ? Wow that's about as fast as if there was no traffic. That's definitely doable.
And yeah 1h45 means 1:45 in my country (France if you want to know).

Oh no, not 1h45 each way! About an hour each way. Maybe give yourself 1h15 just in case.
I am taking my daughter to visit U of Penn and Princeton. Thought we'd fly into PHL, stay at U of Penn and visit Princeton 1 day. Does that sound feasible? Should we take the train from U of Penn to Princeton? Thanks.

You could do that. Go to 30th Street Station in Philly near Penn and Drexel and take the Septa R7 from Philadelphia to Trenton. At Trenton, get the NJ Transit NE Corridor train and go two stops to Princeton Junction. Take the Dinky train from Princeton Junction to Princeton; the station is on the Princeton University campus.
Or you could just rent a car and take the day trip.
I would drive. If you only have 1 day to visit Princeton, then I wouldn't waste time waiting for all the different trains. There is plenty of affordable parking in and around Princeton.
