Hello all,

We recently purchased a house in Plainfield. It was completely renovated and exactly what we were looking for. We knew going into it that the schools aren't great in Plainfield but I figured that since our son was a year away from kindergarten that he would only be attending elementary school in plainfield and we would sell it in 5 to 7 years. And how bad can you mess up elementary. After speaking to other parents and switching to a new preschool we have determined that you can mess up a kids education if the foundation is bad so....

We are looking for private schools. Right now we pay $12,500 a year for preschool. I figure that we will need to pay for summer camp once he starts school so that's about 2k a year. Any recommendations for private schools/catholic/Christian/friends/prep schools that will be 10k a year or less?

We live close to the Fanwood border to schools in :
Plainfields
Fanwood
Scotch Plains
Union
Westfield

Thank you!

Porter Sargent "Handbook of Private Schools" is the main reference work for your better private schools. It gives you the information you will need to choose the right private elementary school. You can buy a used copy (only a couple of years old) at Amazon or ABE books for less than $10. A new edition costs about $125.00. Note: Most public libraries have copies.

Wardlaw-Hartridge School is where many Plainfielders send their kids.

Welcome to Plainfield.

koinonia has a long and sorted history with the diocese for cult like behavior under the name people of hope. if you plan on sending to a Catholic school I would recommend Sacred Heart or St. Francis.
