Something that I happen to think I remember?
You don't recall the furor over the disappearance of both the Governor and the Lt. Governor during that period in December, 2010?

Murphy never promised to keep the roads free from snow and ice, he ran on raising taxes 1.4 billion dollars.

Why blame him? Just living in Jersey indicates people who are prepared to be screwed over by politicians. You got the government you deserve and voted for.

Yeah that’s my worst nightmare in terms of commuting! We didn’t get hit as bad as you guys did down here (work in Salem county) but I was listening to people call into 101.5 on my way home and it was one nightmare story after another.

What do people do when you have to go to the bathroom?? (That’s actually the thing I worry about most when I hear these stories)

Off topic, but Murphys health insurance mandate not only kept my premiums from rising this year, they actually went down for 2019 (even though I’m getting perilously close to 60).

Hahaha, that reminded me of something.

Two years ago, I headed down to Oak Island, NC, for a vacation, leaving on the Friday of Labor Day Weekend. I was amazed because there was no traffic...until almost into Maryland when the traffic stopped dead. I was about a mile before the Maryland Welcome Center, where I'd planned to stop and use the facilities.

Turned out that some woman had decided it would be a good idea to cross I-95 on foot where the Welcome Center is. A driver braked hard to avoid hitting her, and then another driver slammed into the back of her, causing the first driver's car to jump forward, killing the woman crossing the road and effectively shutting down I-95.

And there I sat. I'd brought a plastic container with salad from my house that I'd eaten in the car. I eyed that container after a while, thinking that was going to be my handy-dandy temporary toilet.

Fortunately, it was never needed. The cops got one lane open and traffic started to slowly move. The Welcome Center was so jammed that there was no parking, but my trusty GPS rerouted me onto North I-95 and then another route through Maryland, and I found a place to stop along the way.

Moral of the story: Keep some kind of container in the car. You never know.

glad to hear Obamacare works for you, much of it went away a couple years ago when premiums and deductables made it unaffordable for working people.

OMG definitely! A coworker once had to use a ziplock bag when they were stuck on the Turnpike coming back from a seminar, I usually have some of them in my lunch bag. Those situations are the only time I wish I were a man, lol.

It’s not Obamacare it’s a privately purchased Blue Cross policy. But with the fed mandate gone, large premium increases were predicted across the board whether it’s ACA, private, or employer-sponsored plans, and I’m grateful he stepped in to do something to prevent it here.

When I was trapped on a NJ Turnpike entrance ramp during the Whitman storm screw-up that I mentioned previously, I held out as long as I could, but eventually I had to exit from the car and relieve myself next to my car. Because there were no state troopers to be seen anywhere, I was confident that I wouldn't be arrested for public urination or indecent exposure. Of course, that worked for me, but women would have had a problem.

In the aftermath of that incident, I have carried a male urinal in my cargo area ever since. In the intervening years, I have never used that appliance, but it is there... just in case.
