I’ve been taking this road on and off to commute in to work for the better part of two months, and I am astonished by the level of driving on display. I’ve been in North Jersey for more than 6 years, and nothing else comes close. Everyone tailgates. It’s highly unusual for people to signal before they do anything. Worse, there is an unusually high number of people who are either (1) asleep in the left lane or (2) hyper aggressive to the point of routinely cutting people off (with no signals, obviously) and driving over 90 on a road filled with trucks and pot holes. It is no wonder than 1/3 of the cars on that road at any particular time have dents/other evidence of prior impacts.
I take the alternative route on Garden State or down 95 and I almost never see this. Granted 95 and Garden State are better maintained and are generally smoother experiences, but it still feels like the drivers are very different.
