Summit is a fusion of the best of NJ, Fairfield, and Westchester, imo.

Summit can be snobby.

To some degree it depends on where you're going in NYC. If you're going to midtown, Weehawken is hard to beat; you've got buses and the ferry and you can drive if you like to suffer a lot. Note the ferry bus to Times Square is pretty slow because of traffic; a bus into Port Authority gets you much closer and is cheaper, though less pleasant.

Old thread I know but you got to NYC from WO in 20 minutes? By helicopter. I lived in that area for years and I know there is no way you could get there in 20 minutes. Even at 3 in the morning.

When I was in med school, my mother lived in a townhouse in west orange, right by the 280 entrance and I stayed with her when I was home. If there was no traffic, I would make it to the tunnel in about 20 minutes.

I am a speeder though.

Just checked google maps. It's 18 miles to the tunnel (from my mother's old place). So if there is absolutely no traffic at all, I think he could do it in 25 minutes, which is splitting hairs IMO.

I'm from your town, so depending on where in our town you live, that tacks on another 10-15 minutes.

Midtown isn't the tunnel entrance but there is no sense beating this horse. You are not making it to Midtown Manhattan from that exit on 280 in WO in 20 minutes.

True, midtown isn't the tunnel entrance, but it is right on the other side of the tunnel. That's why I added on 5 more minutes.

Just over, I think it was 22 minutes from driveway to Lincoln Tunnel exit. And no problem getting to 8th avenue (which is where I was going). And I parked with no problem. It was the Sunday morning after New Years Day a few years ago.

Yet you think less than 1/2 hour from Manalapan to Point Pleasant is possible. At least there is direct Interstate highway access. I agree though 20 minutes from West Orange or virtually ANYWHERE in NJ to Midtown Manhattan is virtually impossible.

How many areas of NJ have you lived?
