I was not around, but I typed in "Jersey City fights" on Youtube for the curiosity and I was very upset by this video I saw and it really made me angry:
Looks like a psychosis episode associated with schizophrenia.
I used to know someone who would have episodes much like this when he’d stop taking his meds. He never stopped traffic, but seeing this guy reminds me of him.

I think this video is fake based on the videos the uploader makes. Notice how the bystanders didn't attempt to politely push him out of the way. I think the guy in the video could be the uploader's friend. Notice how they were all the same age. Everyone is probably friends setting up a scene.

He has mental issues. Attempting to "push him out of the way" might end up getting you arrested and/or hurt or even facing a lawsuit. Best to avoid him.

Yeah the best thing to do is to call the cops if someone like him or some protestor is blocking the road. Hopefully the cops can pepper spray such asses
Sadly, there are too many regular folks heard on video including a woman who claims she knows he lives with his mother and points in that direction.. this may be a real video!

I am shocked a schizophrenic person would even have the episode to block traffic. I thought they don't even know the car is there. I don't have enough experience with schizophrenic people, but I've seen some in Journal Square area and nothing bad like this at all. I'm fact Journal Square roads like MLK Blvd have multiple lanes thank goodness. If I were to invent my own town I would build multiple lanes on every road for stupidity like his.

MLK Dr is nowhere near Journal Square.
Multiple lanes on every street is a bad idea for many reasons. I think you need to let go of what you saw in that video. That one block was mildly inconvenienced for what, 20 minutes? And then life returned to normal. No need to redesign cities over it.
