There's a possibility I may be moving to the area sometime in the coming year and would like to start coming up with ideas for places to live.
Where are you coming from? Oklahoma City - I've been here for a few years, but grew up in NY. Why are you moving? Work Where will you be working? Atlantic City International Airport
Will you buy or rent? Rent What is your budget? Entertain up to $2000/month What kind of place are you looking for? Apartment/townhouse/single family house
Will anyone (spouse, children, pets) be moving with you? No Do you need/want good public schools? No
Briefly describe the kind of neighborhood you'd like to live in:
I'm interested in someplace that is more urbanized with more development. I'd like to be closer to a good shore area (if the budget allows) as well. I've lived for several years in Florida and do miss the water. My job allows significant working from home so worrying about a daily commute is not a concern. I would probably like to keep within about an hour or an hour 20 away from work for when I am required to go in.
List three things that are important to you in order of importance.
-Safety
-More urban
-Shore
If you want an urban area within 1:20 of the AC Airport, I'd look at Philly actually. Especially if you're in Center City or South Philly, it's a pretty easy commute out to AC...except for on holiday weekends. And if you don't want to be in Philly and pay the tolls into NJ every day for work, look into the NJ suburbs. It would cut time off your commute and save you the toll money. Places like Collingswood, Haddon, and Hanndonfield are somewhat urbanized. They're not like being right in Philly, but they have downtown areas and 24/7 subway connections in Philly.
