All the crosstown buses in Manhattan are slow as ***** during day time hours. Late and overnight are another matter, but then service slows due to lower number of buses on route.

We need dress shoes with rollerblades for those crosstown trips.

Never takes more than 15 min to get from my office at Park Av to the Javits Ctr on the M34. The bus lane and prepay have helped.

If I had any idea how to make such a thing, I still wouldn't.

Anyway, I have rollerbladed through Manhattan. Can't see anyone who would actually wear dress shoes having the nerve.

NJ Democrats can top that. Make and NYS license place going into NJ requires a 20$ toll.

This is going to get interesting: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/16/n...ew-jersey.html

If NYS/NYC thinks NJ as a state or its local areas are going to roll over on this, they might want to think again....

"Don't you love" how politicians especially democrats are in people's wallets/purses.

I don't hate NJ or NY/NYC but I've stated about it being too expensive, with every increase priced of something some people will say enough is enough and leave the overpriced wherever area/state.

I say Murphy will sit on his hands on this because even if he were to enact an increase of some kind, it does not trump or put a big enough dent of what NYC is doing to NJ drivers.

How many people does this really impact?

The 225,000 NJT riders? No
The 250,000 PATH riders? No
The 50,000 or so NJ drivers who use the Holland and Lincoln tunnels? No
The 200,000 PABT commuters? No

That leaves GWB drivers. The article cited 150,000 who use that bridge. They’re not all from NJ. Let’s assume 2/3 of them are. And most vehicles on that bridge don’t end up below 60th Street. Most traffic (just by observation) continues to the BX and then fans out either to Queens/LI or Westchester/New england on 95. If we assume 20% go to midtown and below, that’s less than 20,000 NJ vehicles, or 2.7% of the NJ-to-NYC commuter population.

Congestion pricing sucks for those 20,000 people, but any suggestion that it will “destroy” NJ or have terrible impacts across the state of NJ is a bit over the top.

I do agree with those who say NJT and/or PA should get a cut. If you split it based on the toll receipts (which seems fair) NJ would probably get a very very tiny piece.
