The 1970s, when Northeastern railroads were at rock bottom. I believe the rural areas on this film are now suburbia.

I remember the trains in Northeastern PA. There were many in the 1960s. I remember my mom shifting to park because we were going to be watching train cars for a while. Forget the traffic light.

I have memories of riding on Jersey Central trains from the mid-50s to the early '60s, and those memories are... not great.
The windows were so caked with grime that they were opaque, and the upholstered seats were frequently torn and always dirty. Additionally, the window sills were not a good place to rest your arm, due to the years of accumulated filth.
