A couple of points of trivia:
E.J. Korvettes, I lived near the one next to Pal's Cabin in West Orange.
Does anyone know what the name E.J. Korvettes stood for?

Also, people have mentioned Olympic Park. Do you remember riding on the carousel there?? Where is that carousel today???
Hint: Millions have ridden it since its time in NJ ended in the 1960's. In fact, I was on it last summer at age 53, thinking back to riding on it in 1962 with my mom.

OK here are the answers:
E.J. Korvettes was a contraction of: Eight Jewish Korean Veterans
and
The old carousel at Olympic Park was purchased by Disney and now sits in the middle of Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom as Cinderella's Golden Carrousel!

I remember my parents shopping at Korvettes when I was younger.

But, Snopes disagrees about the Korvette name origin. See this link: snopes.com: E.J. Korvette -- Eight Jewish Korean War Veterans?

Thank god Rut's Hut is still around.

I stand corrected if the Snopes info is true...but it sure is a neat urban legend.

Also, I bought my circa 1923-1973 Yankee Stadium seats at Korvettes in 1973 for $7.50 each!!!!
