This thread is about the Port Authority raising its tolls, not another state. It is a bi-state agency.

It's like saying funding NJT provides no service if you aren't taking it. Can you imagine adding all those commuters back onto the roads in an already congested state?
maybe progress will happen if the government gets out of the way.

Maybe progress will happen when private businesses stop paying insane amounts to incompetent executives. Or perhaps progress might be possible when private businesses stop bribing government officials running for office to lower their taxes and then getting them jobs after they leave public service. And it would be great if private businesses will stop forming monopolies that stifle competition and ship American jobs to China and India.

Do you have an example for when private, for profit businesses operating public infrastructure actually lowered the costs? Definitely did not happen in the construction of transportation infrastructure...

Why all the fuss? You'll pay whatever the price.

They (PA) know this and they are already planning the next one!

the private sector is always going to operate at lower costs for equal quality. you seem to have an issue with corporate/government cooperation and i agree that is a problem because government is corrupt and inefficient.
