I work in NYC on 5th and 18th street. I have been commuting from Chatham for a few years now but my husband and I will be buying a place in Port Murray - Lebanon area. Is there a quicker way to get into the city besides the High Bridge or Gladstone train??
I have been trying to find a bus route that can maybe take me into Hoboken or even Jersey City. I came across the TransAtlantic website but when I called they said that there is hardly ever parking - you would have to get there by 6:15am in Clinton. YIKES!
Anyone commute from the Hunterdon county area into NYC?
I commute from High Bridge - I live halfway between High Bridge and Annandale stations, but I'm in High Bridge, working midtown.
One of my neighbors recently told me that other manhattan commuters prefer the bus, so I might give it a shot, but I have been on the raritan valley line for several years now (Westfield before HB). I happen to like my train commute, it works for me as I like to walk (so I walk to the train), I can work on the train (I'm a salary employee, but I bill clients hourly), nap on the train, and I always get a good seat.
There is a Lebanon station, so you could get on there.
Other than the train, I couldn't tell you much, but I've been doing it for 6 months now, problem free.
The closest station to Port Murray is High Bridge. About 20 min away. The thing is, I used to commute from Cranford while back. And since moving to Chatham I LOVE going into Hoboken instead of Newark. I hate changing at journal square. I like just one straight ride in. Which is why I was considering driving into Gladstone? But thats still a hike too.
Im wondering if there are more bus routes that go into NYC from that area besides the TransAtl.? Even one that can go into JC or Hobo?
