Yes, it is. When my son was that age, I was pushing him on a swing, catching him at the bottom of the little slide, and making sure that he wasn't hurt if he fell off of the climbing equipment.
Losing a child is terrible. The kid once ran away from me in a department store at a mall. I started checking clothing racks because they love to hide in the middle. After about a minute, I told an employee that my child was missing. She immediately contacted store security. They found him about 3 minutes later on his way out into the mall. I think that their efforts were placed on covering exits. There couldn't be more than one toddler in a Cookie Monster sweater there.
In those three minutes I envisioned him being sexually abused, tortured, and killed. I bought one of those kid harnesses. I didn't care if people thought that I treated him like a dog. No one, NO ONE, was going to take my child.
