Sometimes we put the "aw" into words where it doesn't belong, but sometimes others take the "aw" out, and it's confusing.
I was on the phone once with someone out in the midwest. She told me I needed to call Don because Don had the information I needed. I said, "Can you give me his phone number?" She said very haughtily, "Don is a woman, not a 'he'."
Apparently, Don was Dawn, but there was no way to tell that.

After Dell opened his card, the woman told my friend, "You spelled his name wrong! His name isn't Dell, it's DELL. D A L E. Dell.
