I read a little about the Melanie McGuire case. She was convicted in 2007 of bumping off her spouse. It is sometimes called the suite case killer case.

Back when the trial was going on, was it talked about a lot in NJ?

Anyone hear or read how she is doing in prison? It must be a huge lifestyle change.

I didn't remember it, so I looked it up, and then it rang a bell. I do remember first the suitcase washing up and then it being connected to a wife in NJ, but I didn't follow the story back then. 2007 was a busy time for me.

Now mostly retired, I am very into true crime, so I think I'm going to read about this one. Thanks!

I followed it. I was somewhat surprised she was convicted. I know a woman that worked with Melanie and she doesn't believe she killed him. I miss Court TV!

There is a book about this case. Soft cover so it is inexpensive. It is called To Have and to Kill.

Yes, the evidence was circumstantial, although there was a lot of circumstantial evidence. I think she was definitely involved. Some say she had help. A few people demonstrated she wouldn't be able to lift the suite cases over the rail. They took a similarly sized woman and she was not able to lift the suitcases over the rail after they made them the same weight that the victims parts weighed.

If Melanie paid someone to bump the guy off, she is still guilty.
