The Atlantic City casinos must be the safest place in NJ. They must be free of the corona virus. The governor is telling everyone to avoid crowds of 250 people or more but he hasn't taken any action in closing down the casinos.
I think I'll try and get a reservation at one of the hotels.

Aren't they all closed due to legalized gambling elsewhere anyway?

It's a private Enterprise/ business it's their own call as with all Hotels. Public has a right to go or not go..................
I got an email from a the Turning Point, an Oneida-nation owned casino/resort upstate, telling me how they have people running around wiping down slot machines and whatnot and encouraging players to come.
Haven't heard anything from A.C. casinos, but the woman who came to do the appraisal on my house the other day said she and her daughter were going down there and then gonna catch a plane from A.C. to Myrtle Beach for $40.

I can't count any more the number of emails I have gotten from businesses assuring me of their COVID training and awareness and to please come in.
It really is kind of ridiculous for the casinos to remain open. I would suspect they will be closed soon. Maybe a few more days, a few more cases expanding exponentially.
It is a tough call, I feel for all the people who work retail, cafeterias in offices, and so on and so on.
There are now 2 reported deaths in NJ from the coronavirus and 98 confirmed cases.
Governor Murphy has said that he will probably close all of the schools in NJ but so far he hasn't closed the casinos.
I would think that you would be more likely catch the virus in a casino than a school room.
Other states have closed their casinos. Why won't Murphy close the casinos?
Schools are public institutions where people, typically dependents who have no choice are forced to attend.
Casinos are private institutions where people attend by their free will, anticipating throwing caution to the wind. I can't even count the number of times I've been in a casino and somebody almost deathly ill with flu was gambling into the wee hours.
Totally different.
That said, Parx just shut down.
