I had a very close friend who was sober for seven years. When she was drinking, she kept enough vodka in the bottle next to her bed to take a swig in the morning while still in bed so she wouldn't seize when she got up and had to wait for the liquor store to open.
She lived in Ventnor, and we would go to that place in Somers Point where the big white guy with the white beard sang Aretha type music with black backup singers--I forget the name. Bubba's or something. She would drink her diet Pepsis. This was the late 90s, early 00s.
Then she started dating some guy who she didn't want to know she was an alcoholic, and he would have just one drink before dinner, so she thought she could, too. She was back to the seizures and morning vodka not long after. She died of cirrhosis at 51.
Holy crap that is serious. I have an Uncle on that route. He shifted from beer to hard booze. He'll drink a beer then fill it back up with rum and every night he's S faced by bedtime. The thing is I don't think he drinks in the am and doesn't appear to get hangovers. I don't know how he does it.

My friend never had hangovers, either. She would leap out of bed at 5 a.m. When she was drinking, she wouldn't leap until she downed a few swallows, but when she was sober, she was up and about early in the morning.
She was two different people drunk and sober. But sober, she was a great friend. I will miss her for the rest of my life.
That makes sense. The same thing happened in Denver. After the Denver mayor announced that liquor stores and recreational marijuana dispensaries were not going to be considered essential, both had lines a block long within just 15 minutes. The mayor shortly thereafter rescinded it and allowed them to be considered essential.
It should just be grocery stores, pharmacies, and gas stations. No reason for pot stores and office supplies to be open now.
I had to go to Staples last week to send a UPS package. I believe office stores are open to support all the people working from home that need office supplies.
We knew that (that) was going to happen. People have been driving over the Ben for years to shop at the Cherry Hill Mall, Wegmans, and the large liquor stores.
