Why does it seem most "renovated houses" have main roadways in front of them? Specifically looking around the mercer county area so I do not know if it's just anecdotal but it seems the location being in front of main highways/roadways.
It's an actual thing. Because construction flippers can buy old, small, run-down homes for dirt cheap AND there are many on busy roads because small homes on busy roads are automatically worth considerably less and families never want them which is why older people just stay in them until they can't. Then the construction flippers buy them dirt cheap, offer cash, raze the house and build a new and big one. Sometimes, they get lucky and that tiny, old run-down house is on a sizable lot so they build one new stucco box monstrosity or even better TWO. There are families who don't care about living on a busy street as long as 1) the house is HUGE and 2) it's new.
Case in point, many/most busy Paramus roads with houses.
They are all painfully ugly but sell to people who fancy themselves edgy tastemakers.

Hey, that explains all the big ugly new houses along South Orange Ave. in Livingston. It was always a bit of a mystery to me.

They are all over up here too. I cannot understand the appeal but clearly I am not their target market.
